A rich, roasted brew made from a whole bundle of dandelions — the earth's own energy boost. All the warmth and ritual of coffee, none of the caffeine, jitters, or crash.
It's not coffee with dandelion in it — it's a coffee alternative. A whole bundle of dandelions, rinsed and roasted until dark and crunchy, then crumbled, ground and brewed just like coffee. The result is deep, roasty and full-bodied, with earthy-caramel notes... and zero caffeine.
People have roasted dandelion and chicory roots into a coffee substitute for well over a century — when beans were scarce, and when they simply wanted something gentler. It's a humble weed with a surprisingly rich cup in it.
why choose dandelions over coffee
Coffee asks you to borrow energy and pay it back with interest. Dandelions just... give. Here's the short version.
No caffeine spike, no borrowed buzz. Steady, grounded energy that doesn't crash by mid-afternoon.
A bundle runs $2–3 and lasts a whole week of roasting. One of the cheapest good cups you'll ever make.
Deep, dark and roasty with earthy-caramel notes. Strong and satisfying black, smooth and creamy with milk.
A traditional bitter tonic, packed with prebiotic fiber. A cup that gives something back.
from one bundle to your cup
You can make a real, satisfying cup from a plant most people pull up and throw away.
Step one
Grab a fresh bundle — we find ours at Tom Thumb, Whole Foods, or a Middle Eastern grocery. Usually $2–3, and enough to roast all week.
Where to buy them →Step two
Rinse the whole bundle, spread it on parchment, and roast until every piece is dark and crunchy. Your kitchen will smell incredible.
How to roast it →Step three
Crumble, grind, boil and filter. Drink it hot, or bottle it as cold brew for the week.
How to brew it →our signature cup
One third strong dandelion brew, the rest milk frothed with honey, cinnamon, sage and the smallest dash of cayenne. This is the one we actually make.
Boil, filter, froth, pour. The full method — plus a dozen spices to make it your own, and a second recipe from The Healing Almanac — lives on the recipe page.
